Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Computers & Peripherals and Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 4.52%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chiu Ting Machinery Co Ltd (TW:1539), which rose 9.98% or 3.00 points to trade at 33.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Onano Industrial Corp (TW:6405) added 9.88% or 3.40 points to end at 37.80 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) was up 9.44% or 13.50 points to 156.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which fell 9.95% or 0.21 points to trade at 1.90 at the close. Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) declined 9.94% or 3.35 points to end at 30.35 and Lotes Co Ltd (TW:3533) was down 9.93% or 150.00 points to 1,360.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Chiu Ting Machinery Co Ltd (TW:1539) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.98% or 3.00 to 33.05. Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) fell to all time lows; losing 9.95% or 0.21 to 1.90. Shares in Onano Industrial Corp (TW:6405) rose to 3-years highs; rising 9.88% or 3.40 to 37.80. Shares in Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) rose to all time highs; up 9.44% or 13.50 to 156.50.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.39% or 0.27 to $69.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.37% or 0.27 to hit $72.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 5.40 to trade at $2,531.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.18% to 32.06, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.05% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 101.22.
